After spending £15 million to sign with Nottingham Forest from Corinthians last summer, no Nottingham Forest supporter could have anticipated the influence Brazilian center-back Murillo would have in such a short period of time.

Arriving as a bit of an unknown, the 22-year-old waited for his first-team debut before seizing the chance and starting the following 31 Premier League games in a row from October to May. Due to his following play, he has been linked to a £60 million move to Chelsea, another English team. However, for the time being, it appears that he will stay at the City Ground and continue to build on his stellar debut campaign in the East Midlands.

He has established a strong defensive partnership with new signing Nikola Milenkovic thus far in preseason, and Reds manager Nuno Espírito Santo is hoping the two can start together in the season’s opening match a week from now.

However, the defender could form another excellent partnership with one of his compatriots, with yet another Brazilian subject to interest from Forest in recent days.
