It was revealed a few days after the 2023–24 season ended that Alexander Isak was our Gunners’ top striker target.

The Swede was Arsenal’s top striker target at the close of the previous season, based on all the rumors. Additionally, it was said that Arsenal was prepared to spend £100 million to beat Tottenham to the Newcastle player’s signature.

Nothing has been done in the past few weeks to try to sign Isak. In actuality, it became evident that Arsenal is after RB Leipzig’s striker after Benjamin Sesko’s connections came and went.

Nevertheless, Arsenal lost out on Sesko; if Isak was a player they were considering, as two reliable sources have stated, and he was their top target, then why didn’t they attempt to sign him? Arsenal might think it’s a waste of time to try to sign the Newcastle player. He himself made hints to the press about his desire to remain in St. James Park.

“I had my most successful season to date. You must not undervalue that. I adore the city, the supporters, and the team,” he remarked. “I honestly don’t have any plans to move or do something similar. I’m enjoying myself greatly and am content with my life.

To let him depart, the Magpies would also need to make a big financial commitment. Isak scored 21 goals in 30 league games the previous season, so even if Arsenal values him, they might think it would be a waste of time to move for him.

There are many more fish in the sea, as they say!
