HISTROY NEWS: Players worth £22 million Everton’s best players are being paid £100,000 to report and are now given a career.

According to As Marca, Turkish club Trabzonspor is interested in signing Everton outcast Andre Gomes.

Gomes has been in the wilderness at Everton for some time now, but he was able to get some valuable regular game time while on loan with French club Lille last season. There was never any realistic prospect of the Portuguese ace being reintegrated at Goodison Park, though

A permanent exit is also precisely what Gomes requires. The 29-cap former Portugal international needs to be playing consistently at this point in his career. A departure now makes sense for both the player and the club.

Everton paid £22 million to capture Gomes from Barcelona on a permanent basis after he impressed on loan at Goodison Park during the 2018/19 season. He brought plenty of artistry and trickery into the middle of the field for the Toffees in his early days at the club.

His career, however, was severely derailed when he suffered an ankle injury in November 2019. Gomes returned to the first team in February 2020, but he was unable to establish himself as a consistent contributor.

Prior to his loan move to Ligue 1, Gomes had gradually slipped down the pecking order at Everton, and it is now plainly evident that he has no place in Dyche’s plans.

The full-back, who joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough in the summer, spent the second half of last season on loan at Rennes in Ligue 1.

Following his loan move to Leeds United, Everton youngster James Garner texted Djed Spence a three-word note.

The full-back joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough last summer and spent the second half of last season on loan at Rennes in Ligue 1.

Spence has joined Leeds as the club’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window, and the youngster has announced his arrival on Instagram.

His England Under-21 teammate Garner, who commented on the post, said, “Good luck brother.”

Leeds have had an interesting summer transfer window, with a large chunk of it involving the departures of many senior players who did not want to be at Elland Road following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. However, new manager Daniel Farke has been making some decent signings of late, with Spence certain to play a key role in the coming months, in stark contrast to his time at Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Garner hasn’t always been a regular starter under Sean Dyche, and his club has continued where they left off last season with a poor start to the new Premier League season.

However, the midfielder will surely be significantly involved during the season as the Toffees attempt to climb the table.
