Vincent Kompany eyes Leeds United swoop after failing on Thorp Arch academy graduate – Report
Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is a reported target for Burnley after they were promoted to the Premier League last season.
In the rest of the month of August, incomings are going to be the key priority for Daniel Farke’s side as they start their Championship journey.
The wide positions are fairly well stacked, but the club might have to move quick if they are to lose one of their very talented wingers.
Crysencio Summerville to Burnley?
The Mirror are now reporting that Premier League newcomers Burnley are now looking to add in wide areas this summer, and winger Crysencio Summerville has emerged on their radar.
It comes after Vincent Kompany’s side have been frustrated in their attempts to bring in Sunderland winger and former Leeds academy graduate Jack Clarke:
“Burnley are considering a move for Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville.
“Vincent Kompany and Co have been frustrated in their attempts to sign Jack Clarke from Sunderland this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options.
“And they are ready to switch their sights to Elland Road star Summerville, who has been linked with a move away following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.”
Who else wants to sign him?
Premier League interest from elsewhere remains for the 21-year-old, with Crystal Palace also previously named as keen on the Dutch youth international – per Mike McGrath.
The Eagles have brought in Matheus Franca to help soften the blow of losing Wilfried Zaha, but could be facing offers for Michael Olise, meaning more attacking signings might be required.
Summerville would be a great signing for a newly-promoted side or anyone in the bottom half of the Premier League, given his talents.
However, I do see Leeds looking to lean on him in August in the Championship, knowing he could be vital to us for the time being.
Where he ends up remains to be seen, but there are plenty of sides where I could see him starring if he does move on.
