A few stars were sacrificed when the Las Vegas Raiders allowed select players to return to practice on Thursday ahead of their Week 8 game against the Detroit Lions. After practice, the team announced its first injury report for Week 8. Entire Raiders update list: Despite continuing to be labeled as sidelined due to a shoulder ailment, Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams participated fully in practice on Thursday. Jakorian Bennett, a rookie cornerback for Las Vegas, is still recovering from injuries to his knee and shoulder. On Thursday, he was not as active.
Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels announced to the media ahead of Thursday’s practice that linebacker Curtis Bolton had been brought off the IR. Bolton was limited in Thursday’s practice as he recovers from the knee injury he suffered in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s possible he could be ready to go Monday against his former team, the Lions. Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson, who had been dealing with a groin injury before game time in the team’s loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 7, did not participate in Thursday’s practice.
Jimmy Garoppolo, the quarterback for Las Vegas, returned to action after missing Week 7 due to a back ailment. On Thursday, he was not as active. Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs returned to practice as well, having missed the previous four games for Las Vegas due to an ankle injury. He had limitations on Thursday as well. Detroit’s practice on Thursday was skipped by Lions guard Jonah Jackson (ankle), offensive lineman Benito Jones (ankle), running back David Montgomery (ribs), center Frank Ragnow (toe/calf), and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (ankle). While cornerback Jerry Jacobs was classified as having a knee ailment but was still able to play, Lions guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai was limited due to a back injury.
