Texas Longhorns Expected to ‘Take a Swing’ At Aggies Transfer Portal DL Walter Nolen – Tracker
DEC 4 LONGHORNS GOING AFTER NOLEN? According to Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports, the Texas Longhorns are expected to ‘take a swing’ at Texas A&M Aggies defensive lineman transfer, Walter Nolen.
Nolen, who was at one time the No. 1 recruit in the nation, entered the transfer portal on Sunday night following the firing of Jimbo Fisher, and the recent hiring of Mike Elko in College Station.
In 12 games, Nolen totaled 37 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks. His ability to close gaps helped A&M feature one of the top FBS run defenses and added a second element to the pass rush up the middle.
Nolen, a native of Powell, Tenn., committed to A&M over other top SEC programs, including Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee. He was the highest-rated recruit to sign with A&M since 2000, and was the headline addition to the Aggies’ No. 1 recruiting class in 2022.
Nolen will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
JAN 12 OGHOUFO TO LSU
A week to the day after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, former Texas linebacker Ovie Oghoufo has committed to the LSU Tigers.
