Mohammed Salisu completes Monaco move from Southampton
Mohammed Salisu has completed his move from Southampton to Monaco.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side after a deal was agreed between the two clubs over the weekend.
Salisu was not included in the Southampton squad for their pre-season friendlies against AZ Alkmaar on Saturday or Bournemouth last Tuesday.
Fulham had been close to agreeing a £15million deal to sign Salisu earlier this month before Marco Silva’s side switched their attentions to a successful pursuit of Calvin Bassey.
Salisu made his last appearance for Southampton in March. He was left out towards the end of the season due to issues with his commitment and application in working back from injury. The Ghana international featured 22 times in the Premier League during 2022-23.
Monaco, meanwhile, look to set lose a centre-back of their own. Chelsea have agreed a deal with the principality side to sign Axel Disasi, who is set to become the second defender in as many transfer windows to swap the French Riviera for west London after Benoit Badiashile did so in January.
