GREAT AND JOYFUL NEWS TO CLEMSON TIGERS: THE TIGERS ARE BRINGING HIM BACK …..

Musings: Offered 4-star WR planning March return visit to Clemson

Musings: Offered 4-star WR planning March return visit to Clemson

Mentioned on the board yesterday that Class of 2025 four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr. of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake plans to visit Clemson this spring. Dabo Swinney and Tyler Grisham visited his school yesterday.

Smith (6-4, 191) tells Clemson247 that he’s been hearing from Clemson for about four or five months.

Tigers haven’t offered.

He plans to release a top eight in February. Georgia, where he visited last weekend, and Tennessee, where he visits this weekend, will make the cut. He also sees Florida for a junior day at the end of this month.

247Sports ranks him No. 229 overall. He’s No. 187 overall in the Composite.

Four-star Cortez Mills of Homestead (Fla.) and three-star slot Jordan Allen of Buford (Ga.) are the offered wide outs to know right now. Neither are expected to be at Clemson’s junior day.

However, Mills told Clemson247 this week that he plans to return to Clemson for a visit in March. That’s notable, especially because Clemson didn’t receive a fall visit. (Only FSU, Florida, and Miami did.)

Mills was the first wide out that Clemson offered in 2025 last June after he worked out during the Dabo Swinney Camp.

Instead of Clemson’s junior day, he’ll likely visit nearby Miami for the Hurricanes’ junior day on Jan. 27.

Nebraska is also in the picture and hosts him this weekend. Florida hopes to host him the first weekend of February.

Additionally, Allen told Clemson247 he’s hearing from Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia, and Kansas the most. TBD how the complexion of his recruitment develops.

— Reminder of the (uncommitted) junior day list reported on by Clemson247 thus far:

5-star DE Elijah Griffin of Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep

4-star EDGE Ari Watford of Norfolk (Va.) Maury

4-star EDGE Bryce Davis of Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley

4-star DT Isaiah Campbell of Durham (N.C.) Southern

4-star S Jordan Young of Monroe (N.C.)

3-star CB Mark Manfred of Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry

4-star OT Brayden Jacobs of Buford (Ga.)

4-star IOL Chauncey Gooden of Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy

3-star OT Mal Waldrep of Phenix City (Ala.) Central

OL Jaylan Beckley of Addison (Texas) Trinity Christian Academy

*** Among those that could still get added for junior day: DE Isaiah Gipson, DT Walter Mathis, LB Jaedon Harmon, LB Brett Clatterbaugh, DB Dallas Golden, CB Timothy Merritt, and S Anquon Fegans.

Golden, who camped at Clemson in June, is leaning toward returning to Clemson for the event but his attendance is not set in stone yet. He visits Notre Dame this weekend. Irish likely lead.

Yesterday, Fegans doubled down with Clemson247 that he’s unsure of any upcoming visit plans. He visited Georgia last weekend.

— Clemson has one offensive tackle on board in Easton Ware and a dozen offensive line offers (interior included) out for 2025.

Ware, Jacobs, Gooden, Waldrep, and Beckley comprise a great group coming in for junior day.

Others to know:

What four-star OT Ziyare Addison of Tampa (Fla.) Sumner told 247Sports’ Blair Angulo last week: “It’s not a top list, but I really like UCLA, Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Penn State. Those will likely be official visits. It’s going to be important for me to find the spot that will develop me. I’d like to be a starter by the time I’m a sophomore, so it’s going to be a place that’s going to give me time to develop but also get me in the rotation.” He took in a Clemson game in the fall.

Four-star OT Josh Petty of Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian visited Clemson last summer, but didn’t return in the fall. He told 247Sports that he hopes to visit Clemson soon but no date has been set.

Mentioned last week that four-star IOL Max Buchanan of Sanford (Fla.) Seminole will attend his grandfather’s funeral the same weekend as Clemson’s junior day. He visited Clemson in the fall.

Four-star IOL Justin Hasenhuetl of Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nachoochee School plans to drop a top-10 soon. He visited Clemson in the fall.

— Soon I’ll bring back the “Master List,” which spotlights Clemson’s recruiting efforts by position.
