How a win or defeat against the Panthers could affect the order of the early NFL Draft for the Bears in 2024
There was a lot of conjecture regarding the Bears’ plans after they selected first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Two years prior, Chicago had drafted Justin Fields, and the team was determined that he would be their quarterback going forward.
In the present, the subject of the first pick is connected to both teams once more. With 2-7 and 1-7 records, respectively, the Bears and Panthers have two of the poorest records in the league going into Week 10. Since neither team plans to make the playoffs, all attention will be on the 2024 NFL Draft.
Chicago has twice as much chance to select first overall in the 2018 draft because the Bears possess the Panthers’ first-round selection. And when the Bears visit the Panthers on “Thursday Night Football” on Thursday, there’s no better way for them to benefit themselves in the forthcoming draft.
Both teams are going to be competing to win — tanking never happens in the NFL, right? However, fans may actually be more interested in who comes out on the losing side and how that affects the draft order for 2024.
