Good News for West Ham as they back in Premier League action

Welcome twist for West Ham ahead of Newcastle and it’s a bitter blow for the Toon

West Ham United are back in Premier League action this weekend, with a trip to Newcastle United next up on the agenda for us.

Saturday’s Premier League clash between Newcastle and West Ham at St James’ Park is an eagerly anticipated one between both sets of fans.

David Moyes finds himself under pressure again after the Hammers recorded back-to-back draws in the league before the international break.

The same can be said for Eddie Howe, with his side currently sitting four points and three places below West Ham in the league.

The Magpies desperately need a win on Saturday, but they could have as many as nine key players missing at St James’ Park.

And West Ham should be going to Tyneside on Saturday with the belief that we’re more than good enough to cause them all sorts of problems…

Welcome twist for West Ham ahead of Newcastle clash

The Hammers really cannot afford to lose this one if we are to have any chance of finishing inside the top seven this season.

A draw would be a decent result for us, but I really think we can win this one, as long as we impose ourselves on the hosts.

And it seems as though we may well have a better chance than we usually do up at St James’ Park.

That’s because our old nemesis Callum Wilson won’t be playing for the Magpies. Premier Injuries reckon he’ll be out until May due to a problem with his pectoral muscle.

He’s scored more goals against us than he has any other club in his career, with 12 in 14 games to his name (Transfermarkt).

The 32-year-old has been a constant thorn in our side over the past seven or eight years, going back to his Bournemouth days.

At least this time around, we don’t have to worry about Callum Wilson scoring his customary goal against us.

West Ham might just have a good chance of beating Newcastle in the Premier League at St James’ Park on Saturday.
