Jon Meeney has been added by manager Steve Morison to his coaching staff.
In his second season with the Hornets, Jon served as assistant manager at Horsham last season. He has also coached at Worthing, where he was first team coach, Eastbourne, Crawley, and Hastings. Additionally, he has coached youth at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he played for seven years in the Center of Excellence. “I’d like to welcome Jon to the Sutton staff,” remarked Steve. He has a strong work ethic both on and off the field, is passionate about teaching, and will be a valuable addition to the football team in the upcoming campaign. I had him on my own radar at all times, in case the chance to collaborate with him arose, having observed his work at other clubs.
This season, Junior Lewis and Micky Stephens will not be part of Steve’s first team coaching staff. However, we are happy to announce that Micky will continue his long and illustrious affiliation with the club as he will serve in a scouting capacity with Terry Bullivant and the Academy squad. After joining us at the beginning of the previous season, Junior is departing the club. We appreciate him for his efforts on our behalf and wish him luck in the future.
