“Hundreds of members of our course-ratings panel continuously analyze courses and grade them on ten criteria on a scale of 1 to 10. They also submit a single, overall rating for each course. According to the list, all of Golfweek’s ‘Best Course’ rankings are based on an average of these overall ratings.
The magazine, which is part of the USA Today Network and includes The News Journal/Delaware Online, also lists the finest public-access courses in all other states in the United States. Here are Delaware’s best courses, according to Golfweek members: Plantation Lakes Golf and Country Club, 20301 Charlotte Blvd., Millsboro
The 6,661-yard course, which first opened in 2007 and completed its complete 18-hole construction in 2020, offers tee times for both the public and members.
Bayside Resort Golf Club, 12021 North Haven Drive, Selbyville
The first Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in Delaware, it measures 7,525 yards from the signature tee and first opened in 2005.

Baywood Green features a pair of nine-hole courses dubbed Woodside and Waterside with five sets of tee boxes ranging from 3,539 to 6,983 yards. It was built in 1998 and first opened with nine holes.
White Clay Creek Country Club, 879 Delaware Park Blvd., Stanton
The 7,007-yard, Arthur Hills/Steve Forest & Associates-designed course opened in 2005 next to Delaware Park.
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club, 7 Club House Drive, Ocean View
Designed by former Jack Nicklaus associate Rick Jacobson, Bear Trap Dunes offers 27 holes across three sets of 9-hole courses appropriately named the Grizzly, Kodiak and Black Bear.
