Fremantle Football Club has made a significant announcement regarding player contracts, confirming that three athletes will continue their journey with the team. Pat Voss and Ollie Murphy have each signed extensions that will keep them at Fremantle until at least the end of the 2026 season, while ruckman Liam Reidy has also extended his stay until 2025. This move underscores the club’s commitment to retaining emerging talent as they build for the future.

Pat Voss, a 21-year-old forward, has shared his enthusiasm about extending his contract for another two years. After joining the team as a supplementary player and making a significant impact since his debut in 2024, Voss reflects on his journey with gratitude. “I’ve absolutely loved my time here,” he stated, emphasizing the joy of making his AFL debut, which he describes as a highlight of his life. Voss also expressed his determination to improve his skills further, particularly his aerial abilities and fitness, as he looks ahead to the upcoming off-season.

Liam Reidy, the 24-year-old ruckman, is equally excited about his new contract, which marks a three-year stint on the rookie list since joining from the VFL’s Frankston. He spoke about the whirlwind experience of transitioning from pre-season training to making his AFL debut. “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind,” he admitted, looking forward to the next season after gaining valuable experience in his recent games. Coach Walls has praised Reidy’s hard work, noting his impressive development and ability to compete at the AFL level.

Ollie Murphy, a promising 19-year-old defender drafted from the Sandringham Dragons, is thrilled about his contract extension as well. Having settled into life in Western Australia, Murphy shared that his first year with the club has been a positive experience. Despite facing challenges, including mid-season surgery, he is focused on improving his game by learning from experienced defenders at Fremantle. Coach Walls acknowledged Murphy’s progress, highlighting his potential as a key defender as he continues to develop his skills.

The Fremantle Football Club is clearly committed to nurturing its young talents and ensuring they have the opportunity to grow within the team. With these contract extensions, Voss, Reidy, and Murphy are poised to contribute significantly to Fremantle’s ambitions in the coming seasons, reflecting a bright future for the club.
