Forest increase offer for Strasbourg’s promising winger

Nottingham Forest have intensified their pursuit of Strasbourg’s rising winger, Dilane Bakwa. The English club initially offered around €28 million including bonuses, but that proposal was turned down by the Ligue 1 side. Forest have now returned with a significantly higher bid of around €31 million excluding bonuses — a figure that moves closer to Strasbourg’s financial expectations.

However, Strasbourg remain firm. The club’s leaders see this new bid as a major gesture but have not yet confirmed whether they will accept it. They appear determined to secure a deal that fully meets their asking price.

Bakwa enjoyed an impressive 2024–2025 season with Strasbourg. He made about 31 league appearances, scoring six goals and providing eight or nine assists. His consistency and versatility on the wing, along with his ability to create danger, have drawn interest from Forest as well as other European clubs.

Nottingham Forest now seem close to breaking through. This improved €31 million offer puts them within range of Strasbourg’s demands, and talks appear to be entering a decisive stage. The outcome could become clear in the coming days.

If the transfer goes through, Bakwa would bring pace, skill, and creativity to Forest’s attack. His ability to beat defenders and create scoring chances could fit perfectly with the club’s style and ambitions in the Premier League.
