The Boston Celtics are one of the most storied franchises in the sports industry.

As such, some of their biggest icons have always taken pride in staying close to the team even after their playing days, and that’s the case with Paul Pierce.

The Celtics legend has always tried to uplift the younger generation of Celtics players, and that was on full display again recently on social media.

In an Instagram video shared by nsang8, you can hear Pierce hyping up Jayson Tatum during his lift session (via ClutchPoints).

Pierce has always been a big fan of Tatum, calling him a future MVP and the best young player in the league.

And while he hasn’t exactly been objective with most of his takes, he might be on point with this assessment.

Tatum has been in the league for years now, and that’s why people tend to forget that he’s still a young player and needs guidance.

Kobe Bryant took him under his wing in the earlier stages of his career, and it was evident in his offensive development.

It didn’t take long before he broke out and proved that he could be the leader of such a storied franchise like the Celtics, and even though some people still question his character in the playoffs, he’s gone the extra mile to put those woes behind him.

Tatum is determined to put an end to the Celtics’ NBA championship drought, and you can tell he’s not messing around right now.
