The 27-year-old striker from the Netherlands, who also holds the record for most goals scored in her nation, left Arsenal on a free transfer and agreed to a three-year contract.

After her contract at Arsenal expired, the 27-year-old Netherlands striker, who also holds the record for goals scored in her country, signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.

Miedema, who leads the WSL in goals scored, stated that she chose the team specifically because she wants to “win the league.” Her move to Manchester City was widely expected for a few weeks after it was revealed that she was leaving Arsenal after seven seasons.

I’ve always said I want to play with the best players in the world, and I think City have that. I haven’t played as much football as I would have liked over the past two years, but I think and hope my best years are still to come.

I hope I’m going to be able to help the team as much as I can. That’s why I chose City,” Miedema said. They want to win the league and titles.

“In my opinion, this is the ideal location at this time. Ultimately, I made a simple decision. Not only do I want to push myself every day at the gym, but every single week in our games as well.

After joining Arsenal from Bayern Munich, Miedema has scored 80 goals in the WSL since joining the north London team. He was a vital member of the team that won the WSL championship in 2019.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming Viv to City and seeing her flourish over the next three years,” stated Gareth Taylor, head coach of City.
