When England and Denmark play on Matchday 2 of Group C on Thursday, both teams have the opportunity to take a significant step toward securing their spot in the knockout stage.
England has never started the group stage of the European Championships with back-to-back wins in the modern era (since 1980), but they have the opportunity to do so after edging Serbia 1-0 in their opening match.
After gaining an early lead in their group opener, Slovenia forced Denmark to settle for a 1-1 draw. They want to make it to consecutive knockout stages for the first time in their competition’s history.
This is a replay of the Euro 2020 semifinals, where England defeated the Danes 2-1 in extra time at Wembley Stadium after a fierce battle.
