DEAL DONE: TOTTENHAM INFORMED ABOUT POSSIBLE TRANSFER MOVE FOR ‘STRONG’ ACE

Tottenham Hotspur could make a January move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to Alasdair Gold, if things go wrong in the coming months.

According to the Football London journalist, ‘Richarlison having a stinker’ or injuries to key players in the forward areas may have sparked such a crisis.

Tottenham have ‘definitely looked’ at signing Ivan Toney, who is presently serving a ban for betting violations at Brentford.

Toney’s suspension will finish on January 16, and Brentford’s first Premier League game after that will be…you got it, an away trip to Tottenham on January 30.

It will be intriguing to see what happens with the 27-year-old during the winter transfer window, as many clubs, including Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, are interested in him.

However, after losing Harry Kane, Spurs still require a brute and genuine number nine, with Gold offering his thoughts on Toney.

“I’ll be interested to see if anyone can entice him away in January because his ban doesn’t expire until the end of the month.” Of course, he’ll be available to play in his first game back against the Spurs.

“It depends on how things go.” If Richarlison has a bad run from now until January, they may hunt for a new striker in January. Another center-back, I believe, was supposed to be the priority.

Arsenal comments by Toney

If Spurs go after Toney, they will encounter a major stumbling block in the form of the player’s recent comments on Arsenal.

Toney stated his affection for Arsenal while also stating that he grew up supporting Liverpool.

Now, the striker dubbed’strong’ by Jay Bothroyd did not make these remarks when he was younger or at another club, but only a month ago.

Yes, football may be a wild business, but with all the interest in Toney, you’d think Spurs would lose out if they went knocking.
