Chelsea have same problem Arsenal had amid Kylian Mbappe transfer claim

Todd Boehly has been cautioned by Frank Leboeuf that failing to make significant adjustments to the team’s recently introduced recruitment method will “kill Chelsea.” In addition to the three players that the Blues had already signed in January—Christopher Nkunku, Malo Gusto, and Andrey Santos—the American millionaire gave Mauricio Pochettino 11 new players this summer.

The Chelsea manager had the means to ensure a Champions League qualification berth, even though not everyone stayed and others went out on loan. Boehly has made an enormous investment, but the west Londoners are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League and have yet to see any return on their investment.

Leboeuf criticized the club in an interview with CasinosEnLigne for its hiring decisions, which he thought might be final. There aren’t many Ligue 1 players who immediately spring to mind as a viable alternative, according to the former Blues defender.

Realistically, Chelsea is a mid-table club. It will be difficult to recruit players, and superstars like [Kylian] Mbappe won’t want to go. The elite athletes desire to compete in the Champions League.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United struggled with that issue for many years. Leading athletes won’t join Chelsea because of the club’s decline. Two years after the club’s Champions League victory, it’s incredible to see what it has developed into. It makes me feel disgusting.

“I have nothing against Todd Boehly, but they need to change things quickly or else they’ll kill the club. I’d say the people in charge of recruitment are the most to blame. It’s okay to sign young players to long contracts if they’re committed, but the board has forgotten to balance the team.

“With the exception of [Thiago] Silva, the team’s spine is quite young and lacking in experience. Even Enzo Fernandez, who is an expert in the game, has a youthful appearance. The primary issue is that I can’t see the leadership.

“The hiring team didn’t consider that, and I believe everyone is to blame. The contracts were approved by Boehly, and Pochettino is in control. Even I would decline to lead Chelsea if asked! I’m not sure how they can address the problem of the absence of leadership, which is an unfixable one.

Pochettino has had as many as 12 players nursing injuries at once this season, despite Chelsea spending a lot of money on new players in the summer. Examples are Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia, two

huge arrivals – still haven’t made their competitive debuts as they continue to nurse their respective knocks.
