“Dangerous”: Bruno Guimaraes was described by Brazilian media as Newcastle United are….

Bruno Guimaraes was shown a yellow card as Brazil drew 1-1 with Colombia to secure progress to the quarter-final of the Copa America.

The Newcastle midfielder gave Brazil the lead early in the game through a Raphinha, but Daniel Munoz of Colombia tied the score in stoppage time of the first half.

Brazil placed second in the group, while Colombia advanced as the winners, according to the outcome. It also sets up a matchup with Uruguay on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Brazillian football has been through a difficult time lately since Guimaraes and his teammates are frequently held to extremely high standards. The five-time world champions have only won one major championship in the last eighteen years, and they have only triumphed once in their previous seven competitive games going into the quarterfinals.

Brazil made progress, but frustration persisted since they were drawn into a tough encounter against Uruguay rather than the clear outsiders, Panama, for second place in the group.

Additionally, Globo Esporte, a Brazilian publication, gave the performance versus Colombia a low grade of six, with only goal scorer Raphinha receiving a higher grade. Guimaraes had a rating of 5.5, while the Barcelona winger received a score of 7.5/10.

The public did not extend the same forbearance; Guimaraes received a score of 2.6/10 from voters. Once more, Raphinha received the highest popular rating of 5.2.

He posed a threat with a similar positional shot in the second half as well. He attempted to launch counterattacks, lobbed the ball, and assisted in the defensive recovery.

After leaving Leed United in 2022, the 27-year-old signed for Barcelona for an alleged £55 million.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Miguel Almiron’s future at St. James’ Park, the Magpies are looking for a right-winger this summer.
