The most recent reports out of Scotland state that Celtic has been given the opportunity to sign one of its transfer targets this summer.
Despite winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double the previous season, Brendan Rodgers and company are eager to bolster their roster. The Scottish powerhouses’ top priority is to re-sign Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah, who were on loan; Idah in particular has shown promise throughout the season’s second half.
Despite Rodgers having said clearly what he wanted, neither deal appears to be moving forward.
“Perhaps we can take some action. Although he is under contract at Norwich for a long time, I would really like to have him return. The Celtics manager added, “I think he can really push on in his career at 23 with the potential and quality he has.”
They have also been considering a defender to take Joe Hart’s place, the number one player for Celtics, who has announced his retirement. They might have had the upper hand in their pursuit of the former.
