Celtics Summer League Team Compiling

The Celtics selected Baylor Scheierman with the 30th selection of this year’s NBA Draft, a week after winning the league record eighteen times. Anton Watson was added with the 54th overall selection

The first opportunity to watch those two in action for the defending champs is at Summer League, where Boston’s season begins on Saturday, July 13, against the Heat. The whole schedule for the Sin City Celtics is available here. Scheierman and Watson will be joined in Las Vegas by Jaden Springer, Jordan Walsh, Drew Peterson, and undrafted free agent Tristan Enaruna, but the full roster has not yet been revealed, according Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe.

Peterson returned to the Boston Celtics on a two-way contract on Wednesday, the same agreement he inked when he joined the team the previous year. JD Davison is an unrestricted free agent who is also signed to a two-way deal for the 2023–24 season. Nevertheless, Himmelsbach states that it is anticipated that he will suit up for the Summer C’s.

The president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, Brad Stevens, said following the draft, “JD will be a free agent, but we very much (would) like to try to figure out a way to get him back in (some) capacity.” Following his inclusion on the All-NBA G League Third Team and his contribution to the Maine Celytics’ Final Four appearance,

It may not take a stellar performance in his third Summer League assignment for Davison to be signed to a new contract by Boston, the team that selected him 53rd overall in the 2022 selection. But he could come up with additional possibilities as he considers his next move if he showcases his skills for the Association as a whole.
