Celtic have earned significant financial rewards from their participation in this season’s UEFA Champions League. For their 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig in Glasgow, the club secured an additional €2.1 million (£1.77m) in performance bonuses. This brings their total earnings for this season to €18.62 million (£15.7m) just for being part of the league phase.

In addition to match-specific bonuses for wins and draws, Celtic will also receive a guaranteed minimum of €275,000 (£232k) for finishing 36th in the league phase, with further payments depending on their position in the standings. Celtic are also in line for additional bonuses based on their progression in the competition, with payments reaching as high as €18.5 million for reaching the final. Should they win the tournament, another €6.5 million is added to their prize fund.

These earnings illustrate the financial benefits for clubs participating in the Champions League, with substantial rewards for performance and progression throughout the tournament.
