Celtic FC is reportedly intensifying its interest in Bazoumana Toure, a promising talent from Hammarby, following a thorough evaluation of his recent performances. Under the leadership of manager Brendan Rodgers, the club is actively planning for future transfers as they aim to enhance a squad that already boasts considerable skill and depth.

This summer, Celtic made a notable investment in their team, welcoming eight new players, including Arne Engels for £11 million and Adam Idah for £9.5 million, including add-ons. These signings reflect the club’s ambition to strengthen its roster significantly, a departure from their more conservative approach in prior seasons. Although they explored options for a new winger, such as Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen, the decision was made to retain their existing wide players for the first half of the season.

Bazoumana Toure emerged as a potential target during the summer transfer window, having caught Celtic’s eye through their scouting efforts. The club had previously shown interest in the young forward, even if a formal bid seemed unlikely at that time. Toure has been attracting attention from various top clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, Crystal Palace, and Eintracht Frankfurt, thanks to his impressive performances in Sweden, where he netted six goals and provided three assists in just 16 appearances.

Recent scouting reports indicate that Celtic is now “seriously interested” in Toure after chief scout Joe Lefevre was notably impressed by his abilities. According to sources, Hammarby has set an asking price of around €10 million, which translates to approximately £8.35 million, should Celtic decide to pursue this interest more seriously in the upcoming January transfer window or later.

As the landscape of potential suitors for Toure continues to evolve, with clubs like Benfica also in the mix, the competition for his signature is expected to be fierce. Nonetheless, Celtic’s financial capabilities put them in a strong position to compete for the young talent. Although nothing has been finalized and communications regarding potential targets remain minimal, it is encouraging to see Celtic proactively preparing for the next transfer window. The developments surrounding Toure’s situation are certainly worth keeping an eye on in the coming months.
