BURNLEY COACH SUGGESTS BURNLEY MOVE WOULD BE A BEST MOVE EVER….

The match between the two sides promoted from the Championship together in May was initially set for Saturday 19th August, but was postponed to allow for the completion of the new Bobbers Stand at Kenilworth Road.

The game will begin at 7.30 p.m., an hour sooner than usual, with a ticket sales plan to be disclosed in due course.

Kristian Malt Arnstad believes that his ‘hope’ is to join the Premier League after Burnley’s £4.5 million bid to reunite Vincent Kompany with the Anderlecht youngster fell through.

During the September international break, the 20-year-old described himself as a ‘aggressive’, hard-running midfielder to VG in his native Norway. One who can be just as efficient without the ball as he is with it.

Given what Vincent Kompany expects from his midfielders – Josh Cullen and Josh Brownhill are prime examples – it’s easy to see how Arnstad could fit in at Turf Moor, with the Burnley target having already demonstrated his ability to thrive under the former Manchester City captain at his current club.

During their time at Anderlecht, Kompany praised Arnstad’s maturity and drive for self-improvement. However, a potential reunion did not materialize in the final week of the summer window, with Burnley failing with three bids, one of which was in the area of £4.5 million.

Kristian Malt Arnstad could return to Burnley.
“They couldn’t agree on a fee.” But, of course, having some interest is cool,” the Norway U21 international smiles.

“I had (Kompany) at Anderlecht for the first two years. We get along well, and having him around teaches you a lot. He is an outstanding trainer. You’ll notice that he’s worked with Pep (Guardiola) and other coaches for a long time.

“He learned a lot there, and he tries to teach the rest of us.” Everyone around him holds him in high regard. All you have to do is take in what you can.”

It remains to be seen whether Burnley will resume their chase of Arnstad in January. The kid from Oslo is not ruling out a move that would see him become the latest Jupiler League export to arrive at Turf Moor.

“Of course it’s fine. “Playing in the Premier League one day is a dream,” Arnstad continues. “Since there was no agreement, I’m just trying to focus on where I am right now.”
