Brentford vs Spurs | Team news | van der Ven available

Ange Postecoglou reports that Micky van der Ven will be available for our Premier League opener at Brentford on Sunday (2pm).

The Dutch centre-back joined us from VfL Wolfsburg on Tuesday and Ange said he’d ‘looked bright’ in training this week.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ange said: “It’s good to get Micky in. He’s settled in well. It’s easy for me to say, but having just been through it myself, it’s not as simple as coming out and training, he’s got to settle off the field, as well, and all of these things take time.Who is Micky van de Ven? “He’s looked bright in training. He’s had a pre-season at Wolfsburg, he hasn’t played 90 minutes yet, so, match conditioning-wise, he’s probably not at the level, but he’s definitely available for the weekend. He trained well today. We’ve got another session tomorrow and then in terms of team selection, I’ll make some decisions after that.”
