Steelers LB Cole Holcomb is gone for the season due to a knee injury.
Multiple media reports state that Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb will miss the remainder of the season because of a left knee injury he sustained during the team’s victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.
After spending the night at a Pittsburgh area hospital as a precaution, Holcomb, 27, was released on Friday morning. An ESPN article states that a full recovery is anticipated.
Late in the first quarter, Holcomb was hurt while pursuing Tennessee’s DeAndre Hopkins after he gained 29 yards. As he passed by, Pittsburgh safety Keanu Neal, who was also pursuing, rammed his left leg into Holcomb’s leg.
Following the contact, Holcomb’s leg bowed unnaturally. He fell to the ground, clutched for his left knee right away, and was eventually taken out.
After playing for the Washington Commanders for his first four NFL seasons, Holcomb is currently in his debut season with the Steelers. Entering the game, he had 52 tackles, two forced fumbles, and had played 77 percent of the defensive snaps in eight games.
