Tottenham transfer news as Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele close in on moves away from Spurs days after the summer window closed.

Tottenham are closing in on yet another late summer transfer as the club reach an agreement with Galatasaray for the loan of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, football.london understands.

The Frenchman is set to follow Harvey White in leaving north London after the Premier League deadline for transfers. White moved to Stevenage on a permanent deal on Saturday whilst Ndomebele is set for a stint in the Turkish league on loan.

Galatasaray, who signed former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech earlier in the summer, have an option to buy Ndombele as well. He is set to complete his medical later on before an announcement follows.

Ndombele spent last season on loan at Napoli but failed to break into Luciano Spalletti’s title-winning side on a consistent basis, starting just eight league matches and playing less than 1,000 minutes. This move could bring to an end his underwhelming Spurs career after signing as the club’s record buy in 2019.

His last competitive appearance for Tottenham was in January 2022 and the past 18 months have been spent back in Lyon before his move to Napoli.

The 26-year-old failed to get a deadline day move away from the club and has long been expected to split from Postecoglou’s first-team squad. Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and James Maddison have all impressed in the early weeks of the season whereas Ndombele has found fitness and match sharpness hard to come by.
