Dungeon of Doom mailbag: Re-assessing if Lions dropped the ball at trade deadline
ALLEN PARK — The Detroit Lions added nothing to their defense at the trade deadline. Instead, they acquired a receiver who has no catches in two games, with this looking like a potential missed opportunity in hindsight.
MLive’s Dungeon of Doom podcast initially thought that might be OK, banking on continued improvement from others, while saying it could come back to haunt them down the line.
And, well, we’ve reached that point down the line where it seems like the secondary and pass rush need some outside help.
Hosts Kyle Meinke and Ben Raven are opening the mailbag for this week’s podcast episode. The guys discuss their thoughts on the trade deadline a couple of weeks removed, with Detroit’s defense struggling as injuries mount. We also touch on rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker’s future, playoff scenarios for the Lions and a note on the Ndamukong Suh interest among fans.
