Calvert-Lewin, a “fantastic” 27-year-old who has struggled to keep healthy over the previous several years, is a gamble from the Magpies Newcastle signing him for that kind of amount.

In the 2019–20 and 2020–21 Premier League seasons, he scored 29 goals; however, in the three seasons that followed, he has only scored 14 goals.

Undoubtedly, injuries have played a major part in his difficulties, but should he move to Tyneside, the Magpies will be hoping that they can return him to his peak.

Calvert-Lewin will have a lot on his plate if he does sign for £37 million.
