According to rumors, Kylian Mbappe has made it clear that he won’t sign a PSG contract extension after 2024. According to reports, the Frenchman reminded PSG management of this in a letter.
The 24-year-old moved from Monaco, where he had won the Ligue 1 championship with Monaco, to the French powerhouses in 2017 when he was yet 18 years old for a record-breaking cost of €180 million. He signed a five-year contract during that time that was set to end in June 2022.
He also included a two-year contract with a 2024 expiration date.
It has been revealed that PSG president Al-Khelaifi does not want him to leave the club for free next year, which raises the potential of selling him.
Must Arsenal pursue him? Could the Frenchman be Arteta’s Erling Haaland, and could he be the upgrade their offense needs? Exactly why not?
Even you will concede that Mbappe would elevate Arteta’s attack if he joined Arsenal. The Gunners would have a difficult time signing Mbappe despite their comeback and capacity to offer Champions League football. They might struggle given his numerous suitors and perhaps high asking price. But who can say?
Arteta and Edu should think about trading Mbappe for cash and possibly Gabriel Jesus. PSG might have a hard time turning down that offer.
