Five Eagles take off from the nest
Following the 2023 season, the West Coast Eagles have acknowledged five changes to their roster.
Five players have been informed by the West Coast Eagles today that they would not be receiving contract extensions until 2024.
Midfielders Xavier O’Neill, Greg Clark, and Connor West; attacker Isiah Winder; and utility player Samo Petrevski-Seton have all received word from the club that their time has come to an end.
After being selected with the club’s last draft pick (#62) in 2021, Clark played 21 games in the last two seasons, while O’Neill, who was selected with pick 28 in 2018, played 39 games.
West, a 2021 mid-season rookie draft selection and 28-game participant, is the son of former player Robbie.
After being traded by Carlton at the conclusion of 2021, Petrevski-Seton joined the Eagles and played 27 games, whereas Winder, who was selected with pick 57 in the 2020 draft, only participated in seven senior games.
General Manager of Football Gavin Bell said, “On behalf of the club, I would like to thank each of the players for their contributions during their varying times at the club.”
“They have each left an impression on the club and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
