football starting safety for Clemson Andrew Mukuba now has a transfer portal listing with the Tigers.
Security On Tuesday, Clemson football players Andrew Mukuba and defensive end David Ojiegbe became the seventh and eighth, respectively, to go onto the transfer site since the end of the season.
The junior from Austin, Texas, Mukuba, announced his plans on X, a platform that was once known as Twitter.
Part of Mukuba’s post on X included, “I want to thank Coach (Dabo) Swinney, his exceptional staff, and the entire athletic department for giving me an opportunity and believing in me.” “Thank you for everything you’ve taught and shared with me to improve both as a player as a person.
“After many prayers, family discussions, and a few difficult choices, I’m going to use the transfer portal.”
This season, Mukuba started ten games and ended with a career-low 42 tackles in 578 plays. Being the first true freshman defensive back to start a season opening for the Tigers, he was named an All-American Freshman in 2021 and won the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
Ojiegbe, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound rookie from Largo, Maryland, redshirted this season and saw action in two games, totaling 11 plays. A four-star prospect, he finished his senior year at St. John’s College High with 30 tackles for loss, including 16 sacks.

In the transfer portal, Mukuba and Ojiegbe are joined by former teammates Hunter Helms, offensive lineman Mitchell Mayes, tight end Sage Ennis, running back Domonique Thomas, cornerback Toriano Pride, and wide receiver Beaux Collins.
