Indianapolis Colts To Debut “Indiana Nights” Alternate Uniforms Against Cleveland Browns
The helmets are Anvil Black, which was added to the Colts’ color scheme as part of a uniform update in 2020 and is only used on the Nike Swoosh of their white road jerseys. They feature the team’s iconic horseshoe logo on both sides, as well as a heather blue and white stripe down the middle.
The black helmets are a significant departure from the Colts’ historic look, as they have almost exclusively worn white helmets since the 1956 season – aside from one game in 2010 when they wore 1955 throwback uniforms, which featured navy blue helmets.
The heather blue jerseys, meanwhile, follow a different template than their home and road uniforms, with their secondary “C” logo on the left chest and white numbers with a black stroke. The UCLA stripes remain, but they now run horizontally across the shoulders.
The uniforms are complete with matching heather blue pants and blue socks, reminiscent of their Color Rush set, which will still be worn for one game each season. The same goes for the Colts’ 1956 throwback uniforms, which will return for their Dec. 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Browns, on the other hand, will counter with their standard orange helmets with white jerseys, pants and socks. This will be first of two straight weeks they’ll face a team wearing new uniforms, as the Seattle Seahawks’ will revive their 1990s-era throwback design on Oct. 29.
