Breaking news: Club ‘switch’ transfer attention to Man City defender amid Leeds United interest

youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis but face potential competition

Nottingham Forest are said to have “switched” their attention back towards Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

Previous reports claimed Forest were “leading the chase” to sign Harwood-Bellis this summer but speculation linking him with a move to the City Ground had gone quiet until now.

The centre-back spent last season on loan at Vincent Kompany’s Burnley. The 21-year-old impressed in the Championship, helping the Clarets win the title and secure a place in the Premier League, where they kicked off the new campaign at home to Man City in a 3-0 defeat.

Harwood-Bellis captained the England team that won the Under-21 European Championships this summer, playing alongside Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. Lee Carsley’s team beat Spain 1-0 in Georgia to lift the Young Lions’ first Euros title in 39 years.

And according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Forest have refocused their transfer attention on the England youngster. City are said to want £15m for Harwood-Bellis, a fee which has reportedly put off Burnley, West Ham, Fulham and Leeds.Southampton, Leeds United and Leicester in transfer race for Man City man | OneFootball

Forest have signed three players so far in the summer transfer window. Goalkeeper Matt Turner arrived from Arsenal, winger Anthony Elanga joined from Manchester United whilst defender Ola Aina made the move on a free from Italian side Torino.
