Everton transfer news as Kamaldeen Sulemana update emerges
Monaco have made a £21.5million bid for Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, who is also being chased by Everton, according
to SPORTSworldGhana.
The Ghanaian news source shared to its 19,700 Twitter followers on 15 August that Monaco has moved first in the race after making an official bid, with a host of clubs from Europe
having shown concrete interest in the winger.
It is also reported that, despite the level of serious interest in his services, no club has been able to reach an agreement with Southampton, but it will be difficult for the Saints to
hang on to the Ghanaian international.
Harrison deal may mean Everton let him go
Everton sealed a deal to bring Leeds United winger Jack Harrison to Goodison Park on loan on 14 August, and as a result may feel less aggrieved about potentially missing out on
another of their targets, with the price making a deal even more unlikely.
The Toffees were linked with an initial loan move for Sulemana [Daily Mail, 2 August], but this may now be off the cards given the interest from Monaco for a permanent transfer
which would see the Saints break even on their investment.
Sean Dyche has been keen to improve his squad in the wide areas this summer, as having already kicked off the Premier League season, Everton are still incredibly short of depth.
Currently, the only wingers on the books are Dwight McNeil, Arnaut Danjuma, Demarai Gray and Jack Harrison.
Out of those four players, McNeil and Harrison are suffering from injuries, Gray looks set to leave the club, and Danjuma may be deployed as a striker. This meant Dyche was forced
to use Alex Iwobi out wide despite his newfound form in the middle, while James Garner was deployed as a makeshift right midfielder.
This may be one to watch with movement potentially soon.
