BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal go for a talented star who is the perfect backup for Bukayo SakA
We learned one lesson from our victory against Bournemouth and Manchester City’s defeat to Wolves: our right wing needs to be strengthened. With whom, though?
We ought to have realized that Bukayo Saka is a player on whom we rely too much and that finding a capable replacement for him during the winter transfer window should be a top priority.
Saka wasn’t certain to participate in the match against Bournemouth on Friday since he hadn’t trained all week. However, he was chosen to start, and even though he helped us win 4-0, he was unfortunate to take what is being characterized as a major blow.
Some of us worry about how we would manage without Saka if he were to be hurt for a long time. I hope he won’t be out for long, but even so, we will need to address our right-wing situation
We can do this by bringing in Pedro Neto, who caused Manchester City problems in their 2-1 defeat on Saturday. In that match, Neto was a dynamic force who exposed City’s Nathan Ake at right back and revealed the Citizens’ potential weakness on the right wing, something few wingers have managed to do.
Merson wrote in his Sportskeeda blog on Thursday, “Pedro Neto is starting to produce the end product that once eluded him. Some of the biggest teams in world football are going to be queuing up for him next year.”
“If he keeps playing like this, he might even get a few offers to leave Wolves in January — he’s destined for big things.”
According to rumors, we might be the major club Merson is alluding to because we are reportedly keen to sign the Portuguese international. Notably, we’ve been after him since the summer of 2022, and this summer we even made a deal that his club swiftly refused.
Since Saka will likely require time to recuperate from the beatings he receives from opponents’ defenders each week, we need to “insure” our right wing in January. Having Pedro Neto as a backup option there could provide us an advantage in the title race.
