AFLW 22under22 Team Contains Four Cats
It’s now over to the fans to vote for the final 22
The AFLPA has unveiled their initial roster for the 2023 22Under22 team, consisting of 44 players, four of them are Geelong players.
Darcy Moloney, Mikayla Bowen, Georgie Prespakis, and Nina Morrison have all been chosen for the team that honors the top AFLW players under the age of 22.
Georgie Prespakis, who is fast becoming one of the greatest players in the league, had another outstanding year in the midfield, averaging 25 disposals, seven clearances, and seven tackles per game.
While playing on the flank, Mikayla Bowen averages 13 disposals and four tackles per game, demonstrating her continued strength as a member of the Cats lineup.
With greater time spent in the midfield and a career-high 23 disposals per game average, Nina Morrison has elevated her game in 2023. She has also pushed forward to score in six games.
Another player who has played more in the midfield this season is Darcy Moloney, who averages a career-high 15 disposals and five tackles per contest.
These four up-and-coming talent have been instrumental in Geelong’s 2023 campaign. This Sunday at GMHBA Stadium, they will play Essendon in an Elimination Final.
Geelong fans are urged to go online and show their support for these young Cats talents, as they will be choosing the final 22 player roster through fan voting.
