Due to an unclear injury, midfielder Malik Tillman will miss the United States’ exhibition matches against Germany and Ghana.
After 72 minutes, the 21-year-old left PSV Eindhoven’s match against Sparta Rotterdam. The USSF confirmed Monday that Club América forward Alex Zendejas will take over for Tillman.
The Americans face Germany in East Hartford, Connecticut, on Saturday, and Ghana three days later in Nashville. Germany will make its debut under new coach Julian Nagelsmann.
American players began training at the Brentwood Academy on Monday. Sergio Dest, Johnny Cardoso, Luca de la Torre, and Lennard Maloney, as well as forward Ricardo Pepi, have yet to arrive.

After a 42-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, the second-year quarterback is getting a lot of NFL MVP talk.
Purdy sliced up the Cowboys as Mr. Irrelevant in 2022, going 17-for-24 passing (70.8%) for 252 yards, four touchdowns, and a 144.4 quarterback rating.
This was against a Dallas defense that was second in the league in yards allowed per game (259.8) and tied for top in touchdowns allowed (four).
