Fabrizio Romano has revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Ernest Nuamah is now on the verge of joining Lyon, with the wide-forward said to have completed his medical at the French club.
Tottenham are expected to add attacking reinforcements to their squad following the loss of Harry Kane, and it was first reported by The Daily Mail last week that the Lilywhites were eyeing Nuamah.
The 19-year-old has been one of the standout talents in the Danish top flight since joining Nordsjaelland in January of last year and was alleged to be valued at £22m.
On Monday, Football Insider stated that Tottenham’s interest in Nuamah was ‘concrete’ and that the North London club were planning to launch an offer for the player after Nordsjaelland turned down bids from fellow Premier League sides, West Ham United and Burnley.
The publication added that Spurs had already held preliminary discussions with the Danish club as well as the Ghana international’s representatives.
Nuamah heading to Lyon instead of Tottenham
However, Romano’s latest update comes as a blow to Tottenham’s pursuit of Nuamah, with the journalist revealing that the versatile forward is now set to sign for Lyon.
Romano claimed that the Ligue 1 club have signed the Nordsjaelland star on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for €25m (£21.3m) with a further €5m (£4.2m) in potential add-ons.

I am not surprised that Tottenham looked at Nuamah closely as Postecoglou might feel that he needs one more winger who is direct and good in one vs one situations.
The fact that Spurs have seemingly passed up on the Ghanaian suggests that they might have identified some other wing-forward as a priority.
