Conor Gallagher is now likely to be sold by Chelsea in this summer transfer window.

That is according to a report from The Telegraph.

They claim that Conor Gallagher, 23, is ‘likely’ to be sold by Chelsea due to the arrivals in his midfield position.Chelsea FC v Liverpool FC - Premier League

It is understood that Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia will soon join the Blues, who also welcomed defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton this week.

Gallagher started the opening day of the season in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool, impressing in a midfield pivot next to Enzo Fernandez. In fact, the 23-year-old’s been a regular this summer since Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Stamford Bridge as the new head coach.

However, the England international could soon be on his way out of west London.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter last month that Chelsea want at least £50million before selling Gallagher.

Gallagher is a very likeable player at Chelsea given his roots to the club’s academy and his high work rate on the pitch. We’re struggling to picture him fitting into the starting XI with all the new signings, though.

Romano has reported on his YouTube that Southampton’s Lavia could have his medical with Chelsea on Wednesday.

In our view, Gallagher is definitely good enough to start for plenty of teams in the Premier League and has a great skillset. But if he wants to keep his spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, especially ahead of the European Championships next summer, he’s got to play regularly.
