Everton fans slammed by manager live on talkSPORT for ‘disrespectful’ Farhad Moshiri treatment

Karl Robinson believes many Everton supporters will be “over the moon” that owner Farhad Moshiri is leaving the club.

As reported by the official Everton website (15 September), 777 Partners has agreed to acquire Moshiri’s full stake in the Toffees.

The Merseyside club went on to say that his holding amounted to 94.1% of the club’s shares, with the deal set to close in the fourth quarter of 2023.

“This news today for all the Everton fans I know, they will be absolutely over the moon that Moshiri is out,” Robinson said live on talkSPORT.

“I think it’s slightly disrespectful in some ways when a person invests so much of his own personal wealth into a football club that he clearly does care for, you can see that.

“So you can’t ridicule him and disrespect him and show a sense of despair for what he’s done. I think he’s done as much as he can.”

Mixed emotions?

It seems that, given how many protests there have been concerning Moshiri’s time at Goodison Park, that the majority of Everton fans will be happy to see him go.

But new prospective owners 777 Partners don’t seem to be too popular with some supporters of the club, even in these very early stages.

The ‘Moshiri out’ brigade have been very vocal in recent times, but their complains may just continue in the early stages of the new ownership if things do not go well.

It is, of course, an exciting time to be an Everton fan given this latest news, as major change really was needed at Goodison Park.

The new stadium is a major reason for that excitement, with finances certain to be made available for new players, with the current squad struggling this season.

It will take plenty of time for the takeover to fully show promise, but fans can at least breathe a sigh of relief that Moshiri won’t be there for much longer.
