Boston Celtics announce final two preseason contests along with full schedule

The full puzzle can now be connected. Basketball is just around the corner for the Boston Celtics as the final two pre-

season contests have been announced via social media on August 10.

Over the last two weeks, teams around the association have dropped their respective pre-season slates. Due to the

Philadelphia 76ers and the Charlotte Hornets, three of the preparation matches for the Boston Celtics were made

public prior to the Celts’ official announcement. The Knicks were the final opponent to be announced. The last time

the 17-time NBA champions encountered the Knicks before the regular season was in 2016. The road team took the

cake on each occasion with RJ Hunter leading the Celts in scoring during the triumph at Madison Square Garden.

Three out of the five games will be played away from TD Garden. It will be the longest pre-season for Boston since

2016 when the green and white competed in 336 minutes of basketball ahead of Jaylen Brown’s rookie campaign. The full schedule is as follows:

2023 Boston Celtics full pre-season schedule:

October 8, 6:00 p.m. EST vs. Philadelphia 76ers

October 9, 7:30 p.m. EST at New York Knicks

October 11, 7:00 p.m. EST at Philadelphia 76ers

October 17, 7:30 p.m. EST vs. New York Knicks

October 19, 7:00 p.m. EST at Charlotte HornetsBoston Celtics Roster 2022-23 | NBA Players, Lineup, Salary - YouTube

Strangely, Boston kicks this off with a back-to-back, traveling to New York following the opener on the parquet

against Nick Nurse’s 76ers. None of these games have any significance, but it will be a chance for the public to see

players like Kristaps Porzingis and Jordan Walsh in green and white for the first time on the TD Garden floor.

Last season, the former Wizard averaged 19 points and 8.5 rebounds on over 55% shooting from the floor on

Boston’s historic floor. Walsh is another enticing player to keep an eye on throughout these games with it being his

first look at everyday NBA players. His defense was without question a standout during the NBA 2K24 Summer

League. Matching up against wings on two potential postseason teams is going to be quality preparation for what is

to come for the rookie.

All games will be televised on NBC Sports Boston with four being broadcast live on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
