“I haven’t spoken to her since we chatted on the phone, when she told me she wasn’t going to play,” Murray stated, as reported by EuroSport. Social media was agitated by Judy Murray’s response to her son’s withdrawal, who is 21 years old. She initially described the choice as “astonishing,” but later changed her tone to “sarcasm.”

Andy Murray stated he is not “bitter” over Emma Raducanu’s decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles, but he hasn’t spoken to her since she cut short his Wimbledon farewell earlier this month.

The 21-year-old Raducanu abandoned her plan to play with the former world No. 1 player, who will retire after the Olympics, in favor of tending to a minor injury sustained during her journey to the last 16 in the singles.

As a result, Raducanu faced criticism from the public; Judy, Murray’s mother, called the circumstances “astonishing.” Speaking at the Team GB base in Paris, Murray said he had no “issue” with Raducanu but supported his mother’s response.

Murray stated, “Everyone is going to look out for their own best interests and what they do.” I am aware of that, and I don’t find it objectionable.

“Since our phone conversation, when she informed me she wouldn’t be playing, I haven’t spoken to her.”

He responded, saying, “I think that’s always important in situations like this to remember that at that moment everyone is really emotional because it’s the end of me playing at Wimbledon.”

She is my mother, therefore it goes without saying that she loves me and has contributed greatly to my work. Emotions are clearly running high for everyone. It goes without saying that my mother will always encourage me and watch out for my best interests. She has been my staunchest ally.
