Arsenal set for unthinkable transfer as Bayern Munich ‘agree’ deal after William Saliba call
This summer, Arsenal’s midfield will undergo a complete renovation that was not beforehand anticipated. A lot of changes are coming as Granit Xhaka moves closer to leaving.
The Swiss star, who enjoyed his greatest season while wearing a red shirt, is now expected to join Bayer Leverkusen if sufficient replacements can be found. The most prominent name on that list is Declan Rice, but names like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia are also being mentioned.
Given the possibility that midfield general Thomas Partey may also be leaving, they might be trying to add two of those candidates. Knowing that Thomas Partey has a real chance of leaving Arsenal this summer, Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the Ghanaian.
“Clubs are interested and there are discussions about his exit. Current contract expiring in June 2025 and no talks to extend as of today. Arsenal priority remains Declan Rice.”
There is still time to keep him for a longer period of time or to secure another successful year of work before the possibility of losing him for nothing. He is also one of the group’s players with the most experience at the age of thirty. Losing it would be a risk that not many people would have anticipated before.
With the added burden of upcoming Champions League football, it also puts pressure on finding more than one newcomer. Although we don’t know what Edu has planned, it will be fantastic if Partey and Xhaka both depart.
Bayern takes a precaution.
Kim Min-Jae of Napoli is in high demand, and Bayern Munich beat off the competition to sign him. This summer, the midfielder was coveted by some of the finest clubs in Europe after Manchester United and Tottenham expressed interest in him.
The 26-year-old, though, appears to be out of their reach as Thomas Tuchel signs the defender.
The agreement between Bayern and Kim Min-jae is nearing completion, according to Romano. Details of the five-year contract are still being worked out. He is ready to accept but has not yet signed.
Unless other clubs bring new, higher compensation offers the next week, Kim will join Bayern, according to the release clause, which will go into effect on July 1.
Arsenal has reportedly been working on a new deal for Saliba for some time, but football.london claims it doesn’t mean it won’t continuously worry supporters. We have witnessed far too many instances, particularly in recent years, where players leave even after signing lengthy extensions.
Arsenal have got one in Saliba, though. He’s a gem and deserves now to be paid in line with those that are the best at the club. Following his initial struggle to make a first team impact and the interest that came from Chelsea and Manchester United, they won’t want to risk the same mistake happening again.
Bayern have their own French contingent and Tuchel loves a dominant, speedy, ball-playing centre-back. The links make sense, the interest is understandable but to have Saliba tied down and Bayern moving on is a good thing for Arsenal as they look to make this a secure deal not just for now but also the future.
