According to David Ornstein Exclusive, Chelsea is currently in the market for another striker.

Yesterday was just another day in the summer transfer window, and Chelsea was connected to yet another striker as they look to replace their current number nine.

Chelsea is attempting to bring in a new striker to challenge Nicolas Jackson up top. They have been linked to so many different strikers, and they have even made attempts to sign a few—I can’t even begin to recall half of them.

Chelsea is obviously investigating a plethora of names and has already made contact with quite a few of them, so it’s not like they are just connecting names at random. It begs the question, “Why are they briefing the media on all of this?” Maybe to gauge fan reaction. Who knows?

However, Jonathan David of Lille is the most recent name to surface as being connected to Chelsea, according to a trustworthy David Ornstein exclusive.

Chelsea speaks with agents

Ornstein claims that Chelsea has discussed a possible summer transfer with representatives of Lille attacker Jonathan David.

The 24-year-old appears to be Chelsea’s top option among several strikers, and as his contract expires in 2025, his fee will probably be fair. Nevertheless, Lille has not yet been contacted, despite the report indicating positive contacts between the two teams.

Considering that this is only agent contact, it seems odd that there has been a briefing. This raises the question of whether it was released to gauge fan response.

David has obviously been on Chelsea’s radar for a while, as they have been connected to him for a considerable amount of time. Perhaps the club sees this as just another chance to bring in a less expensive striker? He is at least a track record goal scorer!
