A £530,000 midfielder for Newcastle United has finished his..

Newcastle United signed the midfielder in 2020, although he has yet to play for the first squad.

The English transfer market closed on Friday night, but another player from Newcastle United has already finished a move elsewhere.

Rodrigo Vilca has been signed on a season-long loan by SuperLiga club Vozdovac, with the Serbian transfer market still open until September 15th.

The Peruvian joined the Magpies from Deportivo Municipal in 2020 for an alleged £250,000 fee, but he has since vanished from Tyneside’s memory.

Vilca struggled to make an impact in League One when on loan at Doncaster Rovers during the first half of the 2021–22 season. Vilca returned to his own country a few months later with Universitario, where he made 22 appearances and scored once.

The 24-year-old made a comeback to the United under-21 squad in January, but he’ll be playing out the rest of his contract with Serbian team Vozdovac.

Bojan Leontijevc, the sporting director at Vozdovac, stated, “We have a football player who is officially a member of the English Premier League. “We made contact with Newcastle, and as a result of our collaboration, Rodrigo will be on loan to us for a year.

“He plays on the left wing and ‘ten’ and comes to strengthen the competition in our team, given that we were in a deficit.”

In Vilca’s three years at Newcastle, the attacking midfielder has never come close to earning a first-team appearance.

Vilc added: “I had meetings with the president and the coach who ‘made’ me want to come to Voždovac. It is a wonderful club in a beautiful city, with many young players who want to make serious careers.

“I have already gained some experience, I have gone through good and bad moments and now I want to contribute to the team to achieve the best possible results.

“Dedication, effort and hard work is something that I have always provided and that can be expected from me even now.”
