JAN 2 SPURS APPLY FOR DPE The San Antonio Spurs are trying to exhaust every resource they can.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Spurs are applying for a disabled player exception (DPE) after center Charles Bassey tore his ACL and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Spotrac’s Keith Smith explained the meaning of the DPE and why the Spurs are applying for it.
“The DPE will be worth $1.3M, if granted,” Smith tweeted. “It can be used through March 10. Basically, a case of putting a tool in the toolbox, even if you might not end up needing it.”
