In-Season Tournament action between the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz is coming up, but will Bradley Beal play?

The Phoenix Suns and the Utah Jazz will play each other twice in a row. The first matchup will be an in-season tournament match, while the second will be a regular-season, non-tournament match. The clubs will meet for the second and third times, but this will be the first time the Jazz face the Suns without two of its three players.

Suns rule Bradley Beal doubtful for Friday game at Jazz

In the first of the two matches, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are scheduled to compete; Bradley Beal, another prominent player, is not known. Due to a back issue, he has missed a significant portion of the early season. He also missed his most recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Beal’s back ailment, which has flared again, forced him to be scratched late in that game.

But will Beal be able to participate in Utah’s third of four In-Season games versus the Jazz? Seems improbable. Utah has a strong opportunity to improve their tournament record to 3-0 against the Jazz after it was revealed on Thursday that Beal’s status had been reduced to questionable.

That doesn’t mean it will be simple, though. Durant and Booker are both scoring 30 points per game with excellent efficiency, and given the Jazz’s appalling defense, they may end up scoring much more than that when they play. Durant easily defeated the Jazz with a final score of 133-115. Now that the Jazz are playing the Suns, which also features Booker, things will be difficult. Fortunately, the Suns aren’t a particularly good team, and Jordan Clarkson appears to be mostly returning to his previous form. If the Jazz can improve their defense, they might have a chance to defeat the Suns on Friday.
