Nick Sirianni claims that Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell “knows he made a mistake” following a trending social media response.
CBS Philadelphia, PA Running back Kenneth Gainwell of the Philadelphia Eagles went viral on Sunday against the Washington Commanders for all the wrong reasons.

After the play, someone sent Gainwell an offensive Instagram post urging him to “hold on to the football.” The squad was in the locker room at halftime when Gainwell responded to the individual.

“Lil boy, please don’t text me,” Gainwell responded on Instagram.
During a news conference on Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni discussed the incident and stated that Gainwell “knows he made a mistake.”
“Some of that stuff is a part of these folks’ life. He is seated at his locker. Does he reply to someone who direct messages him? Sirianni responded, “No, he shouldn’t reply to that person or that girl at all. “So, of course, we discussed it with him—to stay inside, concentrate, and not worry about outside sounds. He is aware that he should not have responded to the person—I assume an Eagles fan—and then uploaded a picture of it.”
